RTM
The term “RTM” stands for resin transfer moulding, an injection process which sees dry fibrous preforms infiltrated with resin and hardened in a closed mould under the influence of pressure and temperature. The process offers the benefits of good surface finishes on both sides of the component, outstanding mechanical properties and cycle times of just a few minutes.

Our service portfolio
- Assessment of the suitability of the RTM process to your component
- Development of an RTM process for your component (including cost analysis)
- Mould design and dimensioning
- Prototype manufacturing using the conventional or high-pressure RTM proces
Our facilities (used as part of our cooperation with the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) of TU Dresden)
- Pressurized curing vessels
- Low-pressure dosing units for up to three components
- 2 high-pressure RTM systems for the processing of epoxy and PUR systems
Complex car bodywork (side piece) with integrated B and C pillar

This large-format side piece for the InEco vehicle is manufactured using a complex RTM slide mould. In addition to undercut sections, the manufacturing process also facilitates the creation of a paintable surface and the integration of metal inserts in a single step.
High-temperature drive shaft for Rolls-Royce aircraft engines

The development of product concepts featuring special resin systems significantly broadens the range of areas in which fibre composite structures can be used. To give an example, bismaleimide resin was used in combination with the RTM technique to produce this drive shaft for a Rolls-Royce aircraft engine.
