Pressing

A diverse range of process variables enables pressing technologies to offer a variety of options across a broad spectrum of sectors and areas of application. In addition to what have now become conventional pressing technologies for thermoplastic and thermosetting materials, we also develop specially tailored, novel techniques for the manufacturing of products designed by us in-house. This ensures that any special technological features are factored in as early as the product development phase. Our concepts for series-ready pressing processes and corresponding equipment are carefully adapted to the batch sizes you aim to achieve. What is more, our access to cutting-edge systems and facilities at the ILK means that we are generally able to demonstrate your processes at prototype scale.

Pressing technologies for materials featuring thermosetting matrices

Pressing technologies for materials featuring thermosetting matrices are a well-established means of manufacturing fibre composite components. In addition to conventional wet, LFI and SMC processes, novel modifications and additions to these technologies facilitate the cost-efficient, large-scale production of highly loadable components. Two outstanding examples are the RPM and TSF processes recently developed at LZS.
