The International Dresden Lightweight Engineering Symposium will be held for the 24th time this year – but in 2021 as an online-only event. Under the motto: “Resource neutral lightweight design – adding value by saving resources” new, holistic technical-technological solutions are presented that make a proactive contribution to reconciling growth and progress with environmental protection and resource conservation.

We will present resource-efficient and sustainable LZS developments in the virtual exhibition area on both days and look forward to your visit to our booth. We would also like to invite you to the presentation „Packaging-efficient hydrogen storage systems based on functionalised thermoplastic composite structures“. Kai Steinbach, our Head of Engineering, will give an insight into the joint project „Bryson“ in his presentation on June 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm. In this project, we are working together with BMW AG, the ILK of TU Dresden and other partners to develop solutions that improve the packaging efficiency of hydrogen tank systems and thus increase the amount of usable energy in the vehicle. Thermoplastic fiber composites offer technological options that enable new types of tank systems, especially due to the simpler integration of functions.
