As part of the recent initiative “3D Printing fights Corona” of the network Mobility goes Additive (MGA) 5,000 3D printed protective face shield were handed over to the Johanniter Unfallhilfe e.V. at the end of April 2020.

The Johanniter had sent a call for help to the network for industrial 3D printing and asked the members for support in the currently very difficult procurement of face shields. Together with more than 50 other companies, LZS GmbH participated in this fundraising campaign and produced individual parts for face shields by means of additive manufacturing. The 3D-printed shields are urgently needed for in-house training in order to prepare the full-time and voluntary staff of Johanniter for special activities during the Corona pandemic and to practice the complex handling with protective equipment under real conditions.
